The sun has set on the Sunset Motel in Rockford.
Police shut it down, saying the property was swarming with drugs and prostitutes. Both the city and the county were involved in the action. In order to reopen the owner of the 11th Street motel must enter into a Nuisance Abatement Agreement with both the city and county, basically find a way to keep the drugs and the prostitutes out of the hotel. If not, the property will be seized for one year.
