Machesney Park Flooding Again
Just when they thought it was safe to start cleaning up, river levels are creeping up again. Shore Drive in Machesney Park is now shut down between Wilshire and Gilbert and only residents are allowed in.

I read that Machesney Park may consider a "FEMA buyout" of the flooded properties. What ever happened to this? I think tax money should only be allowed to cover these flooded properties ONCE, not over and over again.

I saw AGAIN a story on the flooding, homeowner stated"we were just getting ready to put in new drywall now water is coming up again" that's a big time clue, you live on the river, it's flooded before and it WILL again, I don't see why they are allowed to rebuild, just make the river line public property and houses have to be so many feet from the river.

My heart is absolutely breaking for the families that have flooded homes. I am sending prayers for them & their homes.
