FESTUS, Mo. (AP) -- Authorities in Missouri have scheduled a news conference and are expected to discuss whether charges will be filed against Nicholas Sheley in the deaths of two people in Festus last month.
Sheley is suspected in a spree of six killings in Illinois and in the deaths of Tom and Jill Estes, who were attacked soon after climbing out of their Corvette after leaving a graduation party in suburban St. Louis.
Jefferson County, Missouri, prosecutor Forrest Wegge (WEHG'-ee) and Festus police have called a late-morning news conference. A day earlier, Wegge said he expected to file charges Thursday.
Sheley is already charged with two killings in Illinois and remains jailed in Knox County. He's a suspect but hasn't been charged in the deaths of four people in Rock Falls, Illinois.
