Cynthia Hall was named the city's new director of tourism, culture & special events Friday. Most recently Hall has been responsible for changes in laws and procedure for the city.
At Friday’s press conference Mayor Morrissey said it wasn't just Hall’s extensive knowledge of Rockford that made her perfect for the job, but even more so it's her love for the arts. Hall has served for the past nine years as president of Illinois Special Events Network.
The decision was based on interviews of the top ten candidates. Hall was unanimously selected.
