Hit and Run Victim's Family Establishes Reward to Find Driver

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It's a very sad holiday weekend for one Rockford family as they deal with the death of their loved one. Now they're asking us to help find his killer.

Cesar Duarte's family and friends are putting together a reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest of the driver who ran Duarte over. Early Sunday morning the 23-year-old was walking into the Aragona Club where he was a DJ, when he was run over by a car.

Family Spokesperson Mary Lou Castro says Duarte’s family is still in shock and just wants answers about what happened Sunday morning.

"The family doesn't hold any remorse against the individuals. They understand things happen and they're just trying to deal with what was dealt to them," Castro said.

Police are looking for a dark blue or black car, like an Impala or Maxima. If you have any information call Rockford Police or Crimestoppers.
