GALESBURG, Ill. (AP) -- A man suspected in a killing spree that left eight people dead has been transferred to Knox County, where he's accused of killing a 65-year-old Galesburg man.

Knox County authorities picked Nicholas Sheley up in Madison County, where he was arrested Tuesday night outside a bar. He's now in the Knox County jail awaiting an afternoon court appearance.

Sheley is charged in Knox County with first-degree murder, aggravated battery, vehicle hijacking and theft in last month's beating death of Ronald Randall.

He's also charged in the death of a Sterling man, and authorities have named him a suspect in four killings in Rock Falls and two in Missouri.

In Missouri, Jefferson County prosecutor Forrest Wegge (WEHG'-ee) says he expects to decide on charges early next week.
