Horton Found Not Guilty in Charles Spivey Murder

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The verdict is in for the third and final suspect accused of gunning down a man in Rockford's first murder of 2011.

Clifford Horton was found not guilty on all counts, except for one count of mob action.

Horton was arrested and charged with murder in connection to the shooting death of Charles Spivey. Spivey was found shot to death inside a van on Sherman Avenue back in January of 20-11.

Police also arrested Antwan Maxey, but murder charges against him were dropped when prosecutors missed their deadline. Maxey is still in prison for running from police. Lamont Cole is the only suspect to be sentenced in Spivey's death, he's currently serving 165 years.
