New Judge to Hear Kossow Case

UPDATE: The judge that will hear Jody Kossow’s case is still up in the air. The 39-year-old mother is accused of stabbing her 8-year-old son to death was in court again today. Prosecutors asked for a new judge so they’ll be back in court tomorrow when Chief Judge Joe McGraw will appoint a different judge to hear the case.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Rockford mother accused of stabbing her eight-year-old son to death was back in court today.

Jody Kossow has been reassigned to a different judge.

She faces first degree murder charges for allegedly stabbing her son Thomas to death. It happened last month in the driveway of their home.

Just a few weeks ago, a judge filed an order of protection that she is not allowed to see her family until 2015.

Kossow will be arraigned on Thursday.
