The man who killed 19-year-old Eric Flynn at a bonfire party in Winnebago County will spend 50 years behind bars. Jonathan Romero was sentenced in court today.
He attacked Flynn at a party in a field off Clikeman Road a year and a half ago. Witnesses say Flynn was trying to break up a fight, when Romero stabbed him four times in the chest.
The prosecuting attorney for Flynn’s family says they are pleased with the prison sentence. Romero's defense attorney will appeal on Monday.
