Plans Are Set For MLK Day

The dream is still alive and next Monday many in Rockford hope to show others how Rockford continues to live the dream.

Saturday, pastors and ministers came together to announced birthday plans. Next Monday, January 16, 2006 is Martin Luther King Jr. day. Here in Rockford a program will be held at West Middle School at 10 a.m. Then at night at 7 p.m. a service is set to take place at St. Luke Baptist Church. At that celebration Secretary of State Jessie White will speak to those in the audience.

Organizers plan to honor RAMM or Rockford Association for Minority Management for providing African Americans with scholarship opportunities.
