ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One woman may be to blame for four robberies this month, three happening on Sunday; not all of them were successful attempts.

The first happened at the Blackhawk Bank on 11th street just before noon. Police say a woman, who is believed to be 22-year-old Janae Jordan, dressed in some sort of disguise walked into the business and claimed she had a gun. She didn't end up taking any money. Detectives say an off duty officer happened to be in the area while this was all going down, they say when the suspect saw him, she took off. The investigator attempted to chase her before a perimeter was set up around the area and she got away.

The scare didn't seem to be enough to stop her; investigators say she kept going, making a stop at the Charles Street Cash Store on First Avenue just after one Sunday afternoon. Detectives say when the woman demanded cash from the teller, the employee basically said "no" and sent the suspect on her way. We're told she left the scene without any cash.

Police say a couple minutes later, the woman ended up at the Schnucks grocery store on Charles Street. She walked up to a teller at Alpine bank, handed the teller a note and got away with some cash. This bank robber is still on the run. Police say the woman may also be linked to a robbery at the West Riverside Fifth-Third Bank on Thursday.
