Deaths on Illinois highways have dropped for a fourth straight year.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says 1409 people died in traffic accidents in 2002. That is down slightly over the last two years and down nearly 50 from 1999.
State officials believe the Click it or Ticket campaign is a large factor in the decline.
