Missing Data on 2 Million Customers Found

ABN AMRO Mortgage Group today says the data has been returned to the company's Chicago data processing center.

The company says the tape was found yesterday. It went missing while en route to a credit bureau facility in Allen, Texas, on November 18th.

ABN AMRO says it will investigate the circumstances surrounding the recovery of the tape, which was found without the original airbill.

ABN AMRO arranged for its residential mortgage customers to enroll in a credit monitoring service for 90 days at no cost after the tape disappeared.
