Jury selection for the trial of a Rockford man who's charged with killing a police officer is in its 19th day Wednesday after finally passing the halfway point.
The ninth and tenth jurors were sworn in Tuesday for the trial of William Buck. Lawyers are choosing 12 jurors and four alternates in Lake County for a trial that will be held in Rockford.
Buck is charged with shooting Rockford Police Detective Kevin Rice to death in August 2001. Prosecutors intend to seek the death penalty if he's convicted.
Before the two jurors were chosen Tuesday, lawyers had gone six days since selecting a juror.
