Junk Food Ban Gets Defined

Cartons of whole milk would be considered junk food, but baked Cheetos would not, under new rules proposed by Illinois Education Officials. The rules focus on the nutritional content of foods, such as the high fat in whole milk, rather than broad categories of food. The State Board of Education proposed the rules after Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich asked for a junk food ban in elementary and middle schools. School board representatives say they will work with schools so they know what foods are acceptable.
