As the nation holds memorials to remember the seven fallen astronauts, a local man is offering his tribute in a very special way. Flags across the country fly at half-staff to honor the lives of Columbia's seven fallen astronauts.
A Beloit man has turned his store window into a makeshift memorial so that people remember the lives and dreams that were lost. In the window of The Overflowing Cup on West State Street Dave Anderson doesn’t want people to forget.
He says he personally wanted to pay his respects as a veteran and give tribute to the sacrifices theses men and women gave. Anderson's memorial is more than a shrine; he says it's also a reminder that the space program must live on.
Anderson says to quit now would be a tragedy to those who gave their lives so others could move forward.
