2 Veteran Rockford Police Officers Retire

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- With a combined 45 years of service, two veteran police officers in Rockford are calling it quits.

Lieutenant Steven Perry and Sergeant David Hooks retired Monday. Hooks joined the force back in 1988 and was one of the 1st DARE officers in Rockford. And currently served as Day Shift Patrol Sergeant. Perry was hired in 1992 and spent all of his time in the Field Services Bureau, most recently serving as Night Shift Commander. Perry was also a SWAT Team Member.
