SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- The disclosure of a memo helping candidates talk about impeaching Governor Rod Blagojevich puts the issue squarely into the political spotlight.

The question now is where it goes from here.

The memo of talking points obtained yesterday by the Associated Press urges candidates to call for the House to investigate impeachment. It includes scathing criticism of the governor and a long list of reasons to impeach him.

Several House Democrats say they're ready to support an impeachment investigation in the wake of the memo's disclosure. They say lawmakers need to deal with the issue now so they can move on to other important state business.

But they may not get that chance until the fall, unless the governor calls them back into special session this summer to fix an unbalanced state budget.
