Got your heating bill this month? Sit down when you open it.
Cold weather around the country is driving up natural gas prices in Illinois---and it could end up doubling home heating bills.
The Natural Gas Supply Association says if temperatures would rise a bit it would help prices. Gas prices are expected to be almost twice as high this February as they were in February of 2002.
Still, prices aren't expected to be as high as they were two years ago when there was a gas shortage.
Experts say prices shouldn't rise as much because there's more natural gas in storage.
