The zoning board of appeals listened to arguments for a wind farm Monday night. The hearing quickly turned into a heated discussion.
Lawyers spent much of the hearing arguing over whether the zoning board of appeals has the right to consider this application. And at one point even an audience member got involved.
The hearing started out with a motion to dismiss the application for a special use permit to build the wind farm. But the hearing went on and supporters got a chance to make their case. A company from Minnesota wants to put up about 40 turbines in northwest ogle county.
The wind farm would look similar to the one located near Paw Paw. Supporters say it's an excellent source of electricity. But many believe the county doesn't have their best interest in mind.
