1957 Local Murder Case to Air on "48 Hours"

SYCAMORE (WIFR) -- It's considered the oldest prosecuted cold-case in American history and today we're hearing for the first time from the man convicted of murdering a seven year old Sycamore girl more than fifty years ago.

Tomorrow night at 9:00 p.m., Erin Moriarty will have an in-depth 48 Hours investigation on the case that will air right here on CBS.

The veteran reporter on this more than 50-year-old case, says out of all the interviews she’s done, this has been one of the most disturbing.
"I think that at the end of this show you will absolutely know who Jack McCullough is. I don’t think there is any question about it. This man likes to talk and seems to be unaware of what is appropriate human behavior sometimes,” said Moriarty.

McCullogh will serve life in prison. He has professed his innocence all along.
