ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Just before 3:00 p.m. on April 22nd, 2013 Rockford Police Officers received a call from a concerned citizen who advised having observed a man crawling through a rear window of a neighbor’s home located in the 800 block of Garfield Avenue.
The responding officers observed a bicycle beneath the rear window. The officers observed a person within the residence. At first the man refused to exit, but then co-operated and exited via the front door where he was taken into custody.
Detectives conducted follow up investigation determining the man was involved in an additional residential burglary occurring at 1000 Harlem Blvd. Stolen property was recovered from the prior Residential Burglary.
As a result of this investigation, 19-year-old Tyrone Lewis of Rockford, Illinois was charged with 2 Counts of Residential Burglary (800 Garfield Avenue and 1000 Harlem Blvd).
