The first round of stranded passengers returned to the Rockford airport Saturday night.
About five passengers were on board a Northwest flight from Detroit. Friday, the stranded travelers were told at the Orlando/Sanford airport that TransMeridian Airlines had stopped all flights for good. They were supposed to land in Rockford Friday at 4 p.m. but after many phone calls these former TMA passengers landed at 7:55 p.m. Saturday ending a travelers worst nightmare. Traveler Richard Puetz was supposed to fly TMA and he says, “It’s been very traumatic and it’s a shame that this had to happen.”
That traveler told us he did not have to pay any extra money to switch airlines.
