TransMeridian Airline announced Friday that all flights nationwide have been terminated. So that means all TMA terminals like this one at the Rockford airport are empty. The Atlanta based company says they were unsuccessful in re-negotiating their debt so they had to file for bankruptcy. One TMA flight was supposed to be arriving at the Rockford airport Friday night. Passengers have been showing up at the airport looking for help but only have a sign to turn to for information.
TMA recommends that passengers contact their credit card company or travel agent. The Greater Rockford Airport Authority is also helping to accomidate passengers. You are asked to e-mail or fax a copy of your flight itinerary along with your contact information to the GRAA at 815-969-4001 or send an e-mail to Bob O'Brien at firstname.lastname@example.org. The GRAA is trying to get Northwest Airlines(NWA) to accept TMA ticket reservations to Las Vegas or Orlando.
