White Sox Parade Details

Chicago is scraping together its confetti and ticker tape this morning to hail its newly crowned World Series champs in one of the largest parades planned in the city in years.

The procession of double-decker buses carrying the champion White Sox and other V-I-Ps starts about 11 a-m and will wind through several neighborhoods near U-S Cellular Field.

It culminates by cutting between downtown high-rises on LaSalle Street in the Loop.

The procession is to come to a stop at about 12:30 p-m at the corner of Wacker and LaSalle, where Mayor Richard Daley and White Sox players will speak at a rally -- complete with fireworks and an F-16 flyover.

Today's celebrations come two days after the Sox swept the Houston Astros to secure Chicago's first World Series title since 1917.
