WASHINGTON (AP) -- Barack Obama says if elected president he won't require that his appointees to the Joint Chiefs of Staff support allowing gays to serve openly in the military.

The Illinois Democrat favors repealing the "don't ask, don't tell" policy on gays, which was instituted during the Clinton administration. But he says his priority for the Joint Chiefs will be that they make decisions to strengthen the military and keep the country safe, not their position on the policy.

Obama made his comments in an interview with The Advocate, a gay news magazine.

He called "don't ask, don't tell" a "counterproductive strategy."

Obama also says he's interested in ensuring that same-sex couples in civil unions get federal benefits.

You don't make it no Constitutional Right for a person with a mental health deficiency to spread it around the Country like a disease. You know what I mean? You corroborate the issue. Gay people are abnormal, they need help. And they are trying to change the values of our Country with same sex marriage. That is absolutely derrogatory and completely inflammatory. for this type of behavior to be exposed in front of our Children. Then look how they behave. Flapping their hands, and smacking their lips when talking. Women don't act that stupid. That is why women are more trusted to be in the Military than a male homosexual. And they are trying to get a Constitutional Right for it to be okay for them to expose themselves around like that through marriage. That is why I am glad Arnold Swartzeneggar turned it down. He did the right thing. I shake your hadn to that Arnold. Don't allow them to spread their psychiatric disease around this Country.

They are not to be accepted into the Military because of their behavior. They act like somebody who's got a mental problem. With the way they be flashing around and flapping their hands. You would rather have a woman in the Military than a male homosexual. Cause women know how to behave themselves. And if them nutts get the right to marry each other. They would destroy the family spirit. With their mental illness. They need to go somewhere and get some help. Instead of trying to destroy somebody else's life. You understand what I'm saying? Instead of letting them mess up the normal Citizens of this Country's life Let them go somewhere and pass a Bill for them to go to a Mental Health Hosp.and get their heads screwed on right. These people have an mental illness. They are abnormal. They bragg about it,and don't care.We don't care what they do behind closed doors, as long as they are not exposed. And definetely not a Constitutional Right for them to do so.For something that is abnormal

Homosexualiy and their behavior is abnormal. And it should not be recognized as a Constitutional Right for them to marry. Which is derrogatory and absolutely inflammatory, when this type of behavior is being exposed in front of our Children who wants to grow up and become normal. With celibacy to the opposite sex, and having many Children. And we refuse to allow homosexuality to change the values of the family spirit. These people have a mental illness. Now why are they trying to make it a Constitutional Right for them to converge among others with this unusual homosexual behavior. And messing up the inspiration of the family spirit. When they should be in a Mental Health Hospital instead, and trying to get their heads together. What they do behind closed doors is a different story. But do not allow their abnormal aspects of life, converge among the normal Citizens of this Country, by letting them marry. Them people have a mental problem, and they should come to realize that.
