The Cook County medical examiner's office now says two people were killed Saturday when a Metra commuter train derailed on Chicago's south side.
A spokeswoman with Metra says train was on the way from Joliet to downtown Chicago when it went off the tracks at about 8:30 a.m. There were 185 passengers and 4 crew members on board at the time. Two people are now confirmed dead and 83 people were injured, including 17 who were considered serious or critical. The National Transportation Safety Board will spearhead the investigation. This is the second derailment in two years on this set of tracks.
