Airfest needs volunteers

It's been 11 years since Rockford has hosted an air show. But that is all about to change. While the airport was busy earlier today, this pales in comparison to how busy it will be in three weeks.

The Rockford Airfest will take flight on August 6 and 7 and hundreds of people are expected to attend but in order to put on this event, volunteers are needed.

Right now only about 50 percent of the 530 shifts are filled.

Parking attendants, box office and concession stand workers are in demand to make this event really take off.

For more information on how you can help you can contact Marge Bevers at 815-969-4403 or send an email to airshow@flyrfd.com.
