GRANITE CITY, Ill. (AP) -- A teenager is jailed without bond after being accused in the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy in southwestern Illinois' Granite City.
Prosecutors in Madison County charged 17-year-old LaRoyce McFadden with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.
McFadden is accused of shooting Clayton Veninga of Granite City on May 1 while the victim was sitting on a friend's porch. Veninga died later at a hospital.
Police say McFadden was acquainted with Veninga, but they're not elaborating.
Online court records don't show whether McFadden has an attorney. He does not have a listed home telephone number.
