A public hearing drew over three dozen people Wednesday night. They all wanted to discuss whether or not dirt bike use should be limited near residential areas in unincorporated Winnebago County.
Not one person at the meeting was in favor of the proposal to limit motorbikes and ATV's to four hours of riding per day. But they do not want the proposal for different reasons. Many residents want the complete banning of recreational use of bikes on private property. Others believe that the riding of bikes and ATV's is a safe, clean recreation for kids to invest their time.
Before the Winnebago County Board of Appeals takes any action they will investigate the issue further and hold another meeting on Aug. 17..
