Tuesday night, Winnebago County leaders put a tax incentive decision on hold, a plan believed to be in pursuit of the office supply giant staples. Winnebago County's economic development committee laid over a 10 year incentive plan until next week.
County economic leaders are mum on which company the incentive package is for. They did confirm there is a company that is considering whether to locate in Roscoe or Loves Park.
However, Roscoe Village President Ward Sterett told 23 News the village is in talks to add a Staples distribution center and at least 200 jobs on this land at Willowbrook Road.
The committee will again look over the incentive plan before next week's full county board meeting.
