Millions of Americans are flying our national flag today, and there are some etiquette tips to follow when you hang up “Old Glory.”
Possibly the most important tip today is that the flag should not be displayed outdoors during bad weather unless it is made from all weather material. Also, we should take down the flag at sunset if it is not lit up at night.
The flag is not supposed to touch the ground and is traditionally folded into a triangle for storage. When a flag becomes worn you can bring it to an American Legion post or a Boy Scout Club. They conduct respectful flag ceremonies regularly.
