The farmer leading the Boone heritage wind farm outlined the project.
After the zoning board outlined 40 regulations for the wind farm and heard public comments the board tabled a decision. Its next meeting is July 26.
The wind farm would place 15 turbines on four farms in Poplar Grove and Caledonia Townships.
Opponents have concerns about the turbines proximity to homes. Farmers involved say the project would protect rural life and pump in tax dollars to schools.
Should the zoning board approve, the planning commission and the full Boone County board still must okay the plans.
