Tuesday, Rockford police nabbed the criminals. The video shows a young man and woman walking up to a resident's house. Moments later they're running from the home with gutters and downspouts in hand.
Rockford Police Deputy Chief Dominic Iasparro says airing this video on TV initiated calls to Crimestoppers.
Based on the information obtained and an investigation, two warrants were issued, 22-year-old Robert Trousdale, Jr. and a juvenile female were arrested on theft charges.
Trousdale was also charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse on an unrelated incident.
He's locked up in the Winnebago County Jail on $25,000 bond.
Iasparro says technology like surveillance cameras and high-tech camera systems are a great benefit to police because criminals never know who's watching them.
