Bank Robbery in Rockford

By  |

Two men pulled off a daring bank robbery on Rockford’s northwest side this morning. Rockford police say two black men wearing ski masks burst into the Associated Bank branch on Rockton Avenue near Halsted.

The two jumped over the teller counter told everybody to lie down and demanded money. It's unclear whether or not they actually had guns. Once they got their cash, witnesses say the men jumped into a burgundy Cadillac and headed north on Rockton.

Police say they may have found the caddy near some woods north of the city. They believe the car had been stolen. The two men remain at large.
