Employers in the Rockford area are looking to hire. That's according to a survey released Tuesday by Manpower Employment. Rockford area employers are expected to hire at a steady pace during the third quarter of 2005.

From July to September 27 percent of companies interviewed said they plan to hire more. Ten percent said they plan to reduce their payrolls and 60 percent expect to maintain current staff levels. Three percent are unsure of their hiring plans.

And the employment outlook is even stronger in Wisconsin where 33 percent of companies interviewed said they'll soon be placing help wanted ads.

In Beloit the number of employers looking to hire matched the states at 33 percent while three percent plan to reduce payrolls. In Janesville 27 percent of employers said they'll be hiring and three percent said they'd be cutting back on staffing levels.
