Chicago police say they're beefing up security at the annual Taste of Chicago in the wake of a fatal shooting one block away.
Authorities say one man was killed and two were injured last night after a fist fight escalated into gunfire around 9:45 p.m. near the corner of Wabash Avenue and Jackson Boulevard.
Authorities have not identified the man who died but have said he's a black man in his 20s from Chicago. Police say another man who was shot in the back remains in serious condition and a third is in good condition.
Deputy Police Chief Ralph Chiczewski says security will be increased throughout the festival. The 11-day event is expected to draw millions to Grant Park in downtown Chicago.
