Sunday made for another busy travel day as many made a return trip home from the holiday weekend.
Cherry Valley Police say there was a three-car pile-up.
Two children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries and traffic was down to one lane for about an hour.
The driver of the rear car was ticketed for following too closely.
For the most part however, most travelers found their thanksgiving travel to be smooth sailing.
That's according to AAA, which says nearly 36 million people traveled for the holiday. The vast majority, nearly 31 million, traveled by car.
As far as major traffic accidents this holiday weekend Illinois state police say they have been issuing citations under their click it or tick it campaign but no major travel accidents within out immediate area.
