As part of the bill, tollway drivers who have received violation notices will have 60 days to settle a portion of their penalties.
For example, the owner of a vehicle with up to 25 violation notices would pay 50 percent of the fees and all outstanding tolls, and those with 26 to 50 violation notices would pay 60 percent of the fines and the outstanding tolls.
But under the plan, drivers who fail to pay could have their vehicles impounded, towed or Denver-booted.
The General Assembly passed the legislation last week. Gov. Rod Blagojevich has said he plans to sign the tollway legislation into law.
