$16 Million Awarded for Grain Bin Deaths

CARROLL COUNTY (WIFR) -- It's the largest settlement in the history of Carroll County and it goes to the families of two teens who died in a grain bin accident in July of 2010.

A Carroll County jury awarded $8 million each to the families of Wyatt Whitebread, 14, and Alejandro Pacas, 19. The two were working at Consolidated Grain and Barge Company when they sunk into the grain and suffocated. A third worker Will Piper, 18, survived the accident. He was awarded $875,000.
