The proposed Super-Wal-Mart in Rockton will mean more jobs and more tax revenue for the village, but it will also mean more traffic and a busier lifestyle for many locals.
Residents of a nearby subdivision believe they are not represented enough by their local government, and that they should have a greater say in how their community is shaped.
Those who live closest to the proposed site have over a hundred signatures saying they knew nothing of the plans for commercial development. Furthermore they would not have even bought their homes if they knew anything but residential house were being built next door.
A public rezoning hearing will be held next Thursday.
