Twenty-nine-year-old Jamie Villarreal was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Elgin. He is charged with first degree murder for his alleged part in a home invasion that killed 30-year-old Michael Kappa of Schaumburg on February 4.

Kappa died when he and several others forced their way into the home of Michael Mason, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Police earlier charged 34-year-old Jason Middlekauf of Schaumburg with murder for his role in the death.

Mason was the victim of the home invasion, but was subsequently arrested and charged with possession of more than 100 pounds of marijuana.
