On Marshall Street, one person was shot and another seriously injured in a hit-and-run Tuesday afternoon.

A fight broke out between a woman and a group of people who pulled up to her home in a purple Grand Am. The woman's boyfriend, 33-year-old Donald Maples, came outside and the dispute continued.

The suspects got back in their car and ran over the woman. They then fired a single shot, hitting Maples in his chest. The two were taken to Swedish American Hospital. Maples died and the woman is in serious condition.

As of Tuesday night police were still searching for the purple Grand Am. The coroner’s office tells us that Maples died of a single gunshot wound to the chest.
