The facilities will be built in Rockford, Dallas, Philadelphia, Ontario, California; and Columbia, South Carolina. Those airports already serve as regional hubs for UPS' separate small package network.
UPS says the expansion project will initially create more than 200 new jobs, and the shipping company says the new facilities will be brought online next year.
UPS says the network will support customers with overnight deliveries in North America and second-day and deferred air freight services.
The Rockford project was announced last month.
