Gov. Makes Automated Phone Calls to Push Education Package

Blagojevich's plea was included in telephone calls made earlier this week to tens of thousands of likely parents of school-age children in Chicago.

Blagojevich campaign spokesman Pete Giangreco says the calls were paid for as an in-kind contribution to the Blagojevich campaign by the Service Employees International Union.

They tout the governor's plan to pump nearly one billion more into schools next year and ask parents to urge their state lawmakers to support it.

Chicago school officials recently made automated calls to thousands of parents urging their support for more funding than the governor proposed.
