Zaldwaynaka Scott says her decision has nothing to do with recent allegations of mismanagement and favoritism plaguing the governor's office.
The governor created the inspector general post two years ago to investigate potential misconduct in his office. He appointed Scott who had been a federal prosecutor.
The 46-year-old Scott says she plans to leave by mid-July and become a partner in a private law firm. She said yesterday that she's accomplished what she's set out to do in building the 52-person office from the ground up.
