The cuts were announced Friday as part of a base realignment plan which will see the 15 F-16 jets based in Springfield moved to Indiana.
Madigan says she's contacted U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin and other members of Illinois' congressional delegation about the realignment. And she says they're working together on filing a complaint.
The attorney general says she doesn't know when the complaint will be filed.
Madigan and other officials had argued that the Pentagon doesn't have the authority to close a National Guard base without a governor's permission, but she took time to reassess her position because the Pentagon stopped short of closure in Springfield.
