Monday afternoon, Rockford residents will learn who will be the next chief of police.
The police and fire commissioners have called a news conference for 2 p.m. Monday afternoon to announce its decision.
There were 11 current members of the police department interviewed. The commission whittled that list to three. Those three received second interviews last week.
Here are the three candidates:
Deputy chief Dominic Iasparro
Asst. Deputy chief Jeff Morris
Deputy chief Steve Pugh
One of these three will replace current chief Jeff Nielsen who will retire in early January after five years as the chief of police. 23 News will have more on Rockford's new top cop on 23 News at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
