Roadside Safety Checks Net More Than 300 Tickets

The numbers are in from the five roadside safety checks conducted by Illinois state police in northern Illinois.

More than 125 tickets were written for various seat belt violations. There were 48 people ticketed for driver's license offenses, and 26 people were arrested for outstanding warrants.

There was one DUI bust, and seven other arrests for other alcohol or drug related offenses.

In all 314 tickets were written, and 87 people received written warnings.
