ROCKFORD (WIFR) – The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois is pleased to announce that scholarships
totaling over $150,000 are now available.
75 scholarship funds are available for graduating high school seniors, returning college students, and
nontraditional students returning to higher education. The scholarships are offered to students in
Boone, Ogle, Stephenson, and Winnebago counties.
Scholarship deadlines and specific requirements vary depending on scholarship criteria. Complete
information and applications are available on-line at http://www.cfnil.org.
The Community Foundation’s scholarships are available as a result of endowed funds individuals,
families and service organizations have established at the Foundation. “Providing financial support to
young people who embrace the challenge of higher education is a popular way for people to honor or
memorialize loved ones and to give back to the community,” said Gloria Lundin, Community Foundation
President. The Foundation is the region’s largest provider of scholarships in Northern Illinois.
The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois was established in 1953 to receive and distribute
charitable funds for the benefit of the Northern Illinois region. For more information about scholarships
